SABMILLER ANNOUNCES PUBLICATION OF UPDATED BASE PROSPECTUS                      
9 March 2010                                                                    
On 8 March 2010 SABMiller plc submitted to the Financial Services Authority an  
updated base prospectus relating to the update of the Guaranteed Medium Term    
Note Programme which was established by SABMiller plc and its wholly-owned      
subsidiary Racetrack Peru S.R.L. on 28 January 2009 (the `Programme`). The      
maximum aggregate principal amount of notes that may be outstanding at any time 
under the Programme is PEN (Peruvian Nuevos Soles) 1,500,000,000 (approximately 
US$ 528,000,000).                                                               
SABMiller expects that any notes issued in the future under the Programme will  
be admitted to the Official List of the UK Listing Authority and admitted to    
trading on the Professional Securities Market of the London Stock Exchange plc. 
No notes have yet been issued under the Programme.                              
The updated base prospectus will shortly be available for inspection at the     
Financial Services Authority`s Document Viewing Facility, which is situated at:
